Living at Leisure - Happiness at Any Age
Shows, adapted bicycles, walks, art therapy… Discover the documentary photo series Vivre à loisir (Living at Leisure), which shines a spotlight on residents in long-term care facilities (CHSLDs) and their recreational staff. Through Andrea Calderón Stephens’ sensitive and warm images, this exhibition highlights the importance of pleasure, play, and entertainment in building dignified living conditions. The project, carried out at the 17 long-term care facilities of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, is a testament to a deep commitment to the well-being of seniors.
Originally from Mexico, Andrea Calderón Stephens is a photographer with a Master’s in Visual and Media Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She has also worked in the leisure sector at CHSLDs within the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.
Exhibition presented in French only.
